Umm.no go. I deleted the XML and the problem persists. I restarted all Imail services as well as all IIS services, and the problem still persists. Anything else I can try? Also, I would try deleting the .xml file for the deleted items mailbox and see if that fixes the problem. If I select them and delete them, they disappear from the view, but never actually go away. Is there something I am missing?
