I have a laptop running Outlook 2003 and it has an IMAP account on it with a larger number of mailboxes, but not too much mail. About every other day or so it won't complete a send/receive and the only way to fix it is to remove the IMAP account and re-add it. After this, then the mail flow correctly again.
