Yes, you need to escape the brackets. Try SNIFFER\[5\]

Subject: [IMail Forum] Filtering Question
I'm trying to setup an inbound filter on the following found in the
header
SNIFFER [5]
But it doesn't seem to work ... is Imail confused by the bracket, do I
need to put something special in for it to recognize the space then
bracket in the filter?
David
