I have my IMail server as my backup MX, I have IMGate as my primary MX ... I just blocked port 25 at the firewall for the IMail server. If my IMGate when down I could just unblock port 25 and the IMail would start to receiving email as the DNS records are already in place. I know my IMail server wouldn't hold up to the amount of spam I get ... but again it's a backup configuration ... and ... I haven't had to use it in 4 years.
