Thanks for the info Tripp. Therefore you are telling me that I can rely
on this .uid file to tell if the mailbox has been accessed at all?
Therefore I would be able to ignore the lastlog.in file after upgrading?

Thanks,

.UID files can be updated anytime the associated mailbox is accessed by
any of the IMail services (POP, IMAP, Web Client, Queue Manager etc).

Can someone at IPSwitch confirm when the .uid files are updated?

POP3 updates lastlog.in just as before. Web messaging does not update
this file, nor the lastlogin field in the database record. Web
Messaging updates some .UID files in the user's folder, but I haven't
checked to see if web messaging is the only thing that touches these
files.

Just be aware that we saw these problems in the external DB under
2006.2 - I haven't heard if they have been fixed or confirmed (sent a
test case for the first item to Ipswitch):

  - Full mailbox notification on external DB fills up the mailbox.
  - Random lost password and access flags with external DB.

Also, if your external DB is on another machine, you must update the
IMail WebClient app's web.config under the appropriate section - similar
to this article, which needs to be updated for 2006.2 -

2006.2 is great otherwise, and solves many issues with 2006.1.

        Hello All,

We are planning on upgrading soon from 8.22 and I have a script
that runs every week that checks for accounts that are not being used by
looking at the lastlog.in file and also the web messaging time stamp in
our SQL Server database. That way I check both POP3 logins and Webmail
logins. Is this done differently in IMail 2006? Are both of those
fields still used and used the same as it was in 8.22? Can anyone check
on this for me?

        Thanks,
