This sounds like a permissions problem on the DB (IIS process/user not
having access to the DB). Your best bet is to give Tech Support a call and
let them walk through the issue.

Thanks for the reply Steinar,

This user never existed in the ODBC database (also MS SQL). I don't think
the connection was ever made to the database. This is my thought because no
users show up in Imail and I can't log into webmail or via a mail client.

Hi!

Have you checked the password of the admin account in your ODBC database (we
use MS SQL)?

The password should be in plain text.

The FLAGS column shold be 1920 in value for the admin account to have access
to IAdmin.

Regards,
Steinar

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail 8.2 --> Imail Server 2006 Upgrade nightmare

Things went from bad to worse tonight.

Reading all the Ipswitch info and the forum posts, it looked like it would
be a smooth upgrade. Luckily I imaged my drives and am back running
8.21/8.22 again.

The system went through the process... Everything looked fine. It said it
converted/imported my users and scrolled through all of them in a DOS
window. It asked for my admin UID and Pass and then it all went to hell.

I cannot log into the Admin web page and so have no way to see anything.
I'm 100% sure I have the correct UID and pass for the admin account. I
tried to repair-install and when I entered a new Admin Password, it failed.
In the registry the admin password is not in plain text and none of my users
are in the new Imail folder.

We use an external ODBC database to store our user info so I can't just muck
through it and get it running. Despite saying it properly did the upgrade
to our external database, I can't log into the webmail interface with end
user credentials.

The only positive thing is that the web interfaces seem to be working (well,
the log in screens anyhow)

Any suggestions? Anyone want to take this on?

Thanks in advance.

Arthur
