Bad socket state in 9.2 when sending messages in IClient

Windows Server 2003 - All critical patches installed
IMail has 4 IP domains
imail (ip.5) - default domain used for IT
   webmail (ip.6) - employees
   students (ip.7) - students
   alumni (ip.8) - alumni council

Permissions in Registry for Ipswitch key and Softalk key have been set and verified by Ipswitch.
Permissions on IMail folder have been set and verified by Ipswitch.

IIS has 4 web sites configured (one for each IP) and is using ASP.NET 2.0.
IIS has 2 application pools (one for IClient and one for IAdmin) and each
web site is configured to use them appropriately.

Originally this problem existed on a Dell PowerEdge2600 within days of upgrading from 8.22 to 9.2. After a reboot, the error went away for between 1 and 4 days. This is how the last month has gone.

As part of trying to get a stable platform to run on, a new Dell PowerEdge2900 was setup on 4/15.

Following Ipswitch documentation on moving to a new server, the move was completed successfully. The single issue was a very slow IClient, which Ipswitch corrected and explained for me at 9am on 4/16. (That is where permissions in the registry and the imail folder were set and verified.)

By noon on 4/16, the new server was showing "bad socket state" when sending messages in IClient.

The latest change was in IIS for the Default Web Site: added localhost to the host header in the IP address advanced screen and issued an "iisreset" command. It works now. IMO, because of the iisreset.

Has anyone had success getting past the "bad socket state" error and how?
Are there any other suggestions that you might have for me to try on our server?
If you have additional questions for me, let me know.

Thanks for taking the time to consider this one.

Eric
