And none of them are good for anything but individual attacks on targeted accounts. I have a grave mistrust of apps that emphasize uplevel IP socket discarding as a security measure. It would amost always be better for such apps to be written to a firewalling/port blocking API offered by the host OS or by other kernel-level software. > And anyway, this used to be a feature in imail 8.x so I am really > baffeled that they forgot to include it in 2006. I do agree with your point. You have the right to complain about any lost feature and should get an explanation. FYI, if you are using Active Directory as your userbase, you will naturally take advantage of AD's max login attempts. If you are using SQL, you can simulate the same functionality using a trigger. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
