Hi

I have just done some further testing and found that it DOES seem to be a
firewall issue as I cannot telnet to port 143 from the internet but I can do
so on the server's desktop. The odd thing is that our Cisco Pix has the
same rule as before so I cannot understand why it is blocking it...

Thanks

Corrupt mbx or uid file?

Can you successfully access a mailbox via POP3 and IMAP? Turn on the 'leave
messages on server' option for POP3, if you want.

This might be an instance to enable 'debug messages' for the imap service.

Subject: [IMail Forum] IMAP service stopped functioning

Hi

We are running 2006.2 without problem for sometime. Last week there was a
major power failure at our hosting provider and our servers were offline for
a number of hours. After coming back online all was fine except that the
IMAP service seemed to have stopped working. The service is showing as
running fine but when I try to connect using Outlook (or any other IMAP
client) I get a message saying...

"Outlook is unable to download folder Inbox from the IMAP server.....
Error: Unable to connect to the server....."

 - I have checked our firewall and it has not changed and is allowing
connections on port 143..
 - POP, SMTP and webmail are working normally
 - I have rebooted the server (fixes most issues :-)
 - In the sys log file the only reference to the IMAP service is when it is
being started

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks
