Imail Version 8.22. The following entry was in the Imail Log file, where smtp & pop transactions are logged. I could not find it in the KB. Anyone know what it means?
20070710 230141 127.0.0.1 SYSLIB (0000000000000000) Idle Time Start About the time of this log entry, the SMTP service stopped processing inbound connections. You could telnet to the smtp port and connect, but Imail did not return the usual welcome banner. Telnet returned a black screen and eventually dropped the connection for no activity. There were no smtp log entries except for outbound and all of them showed "mx connect fail" (that could very well be legitimate). POP was working just fine. The smtp service showed about 25% CPU utilization and there were no other smtp services running (or installed) on the box. I bounced the smtp service in the Imail GUI, which cleared the issue. The windows event logs were no help. Anyone have a clue what the log entry means and what may have caused the issue? Thanks, ---- Don Brown - Dallas, Texas USA Internet Concepts, Inc.
