I am happy to report that I no longer have unexplained daily Imail crashes, buggy untested "upgrades" to deal with, sudden price tripling, or paid support that never has a solution.
I migrated my 1600 Imail users to Smartermail on Monday and it all went perfect. It is extremely easy to use, seems to be using about 80% less cpu than Imail, and is super easy to back up. Declude setup is even easier, and customizing the web templates is 10 times more flexible and far easier to do. All this for less than the cost of 1 year of "annual maintenance" from Ipswitch. For all of you struggling along with Imail problems I encourage you to take a few hours and try out Smartermail. Install it on a test server and try migrating your mail. Once you try its almost a guarantee you will migrate. One last bit of comedy... When uninstalling Imail the installer crashed before it finished. Isn't that typical of Ipswitch? Even the uninstall routine is buggy. :) For those of you that stay with Imail have fun with 2006.3 and good luck trying to resolve the problems it induces.
