IMAPSharyn,

IMAP is a protocol used by email clients, better than POP3, IMHO. Been using
it for 6 years or more. Got lots of folders in my mailbox and I leave
messages on the server. I access from any computer I need to, can see pretty
much what I have in Outlook, in Web Messaging.

Does it need to be running, generally speaking, no, but there was a version
of IMail Web Messaging that did require it, think it was the early V9.x/9.1x
versions.

IMail - POP3 or IMAP, which is better?

Subject: [IMail Forum] IMAP

Please pardon my ignorance in advance.

On an IMAIL Collaboration server, what exactly is IMAP used for and why does
the service need to be running? Or does it?

Thanks,
Sharyn
