Any idea where one would find the connecting IP for SMTPD in the logs?

SMTP log entries is your server (mail.ncats.net) connecting to others to
deliver mail.

You  need  to look for SMTPD log entries for 47c300b100009f56 to find
out
how that mail got to your server.
