Thanks, Travis. The Barracuda was upgraded to the latest firmware last night and I could import IMail's userlist, but it means a lot more maintenance as I would have to make sure that every new account in IMail also got put into the Barracuda. I was hoping for something simpler (sigh!). So, is the problem that I have aliases for my domain, or for my users?

It really doesn't work since LDAP doesn't account for aliases. The newest
early release firmware however does allow for a list of users and aliases
that exist on the Imail server. HOWEVER - this doesn't stop you from
getting spam. All this will do is stop your barracuda from accepting mail
for non-existent users.

Disabling the nobody alias on your Imail server will stop you from getting
mail for non-existent users.

Subject: [IMail Forum] any one using IMail LDAP with Barracuda 300?

I've been having some problems with our Barracuda Spam Filter lately and one of their techs recommended that I use it with LDAP on the mail server. I'm trying to set it up but I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done. I've followed the kbase articles on Ipswitch web site to get LDAP running on the IMail server, but that's as far as I've gotten. Is anyone out there doing this? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has set this up.

Thanks in advance,

~Susan
