We have been using DirectNic for years. I have never heard of them calling any of our clients or anything. They are $15 per domain unless you purchase DirectNic Bucks and then you can get them cheaper depending on the quantity you buy at once. I like them as the site is easy to use and never hear anything from them unless I ask.
