When I was changing backbone providers and therefore ip blocks, I ran an 
two ip addresses on my primary DNS FreeBSD box, the departing ip and the 
new ip.  Worked fine.  then I deleted the old ip.

putting two nics in scares me (open the box, screwdrivers, manual f*ck ups, 
blah, blah) just for this. Use multipe ip address on one card rather than 
two cards.   Sleep better, longer, less nightmares.
