I am having the same problem, using Outlook 97, SR-2. I posted to this list last week about it, but have had no response. Microsoft says it has to do with the Internet Mail Enhancement Patch, which came with that version of Outlook. It's driving me nuts. We've been on IMail 2+ weeks and I have one of our managers demanding that we "just go back to the old mail server" - easier said than done. This doesn't happen on all messages, just enough to be annoying. We looked at the headers of the bad messages, and found that when the To: or Cc: fields exceed 256 characters, they sometimes wrap to the next line. Normal messages have will have another To: or Cc: field, which breaks the string on that line. You can see this if you view the header with a text editor like Programmer's File Editor. It really gets messy when you have a file attachment, because it gets scrambled. Ipswitch says the problem is with Outlook, but we are running the same version we were 3 weeks ago (before IMail) and never had this problem. We were using Sendmail on Linux as a server for several months. I'm trying to work with Ipswitch Tech Support to figure it out, but they've been unable to come up with anything. They act as if they've never heard of this problem. I'd really appreciate it if you could email them about it. I was sure I wasn't the only one having this problem. What I've told our users to do is limit messages to no more than 5 addresses on the To:, Cc: or Bcc: lines. This should keep the line to under 256 characters, and get the messages through. But there has to be a way to fix it. I'd be interested to hear what you find in your message headers. Please let me know. I'm also hoping someone else out there has some experience with this, and can lend a hand.
