Totally agree with you, Cal, *except* for sending out newsletters, direct marketing stuff, etc., to a list of users. In this application, no one can or will be subscribed in digest mode, so why not go ahead and go the extra effort of a two-part, self-selecting HTML/Plain-Text message. It's apparently working well for Amazon.com, Pets.com, Onsale, LockerGnome, and several others I receive. Being able to browse CD selections in the email and click the "add to cart" button is powerful marketing stuff. (Too bad I won't buy from them anymore due to the patent crap they're pulling.) Us old jaded internet jockeys of course prefer plain text with hyperlinks... but the masses are using OE or Outlook, and those nice HTML newletters SELL. Bandwidth be damned. ;) Ron Allen Hornbaker Humankind Systems, Inc. ~ http://humankindsystems.com/LoftCam mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~~HKSI WebMail Templates for IMail v6~~ Try our demo...... http://mail.hksi.net Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
