I've found most of these problems are
firewalls. Most work locations now use a firewall that won't allow access
to certain ports, making Web Email unusable unless it runs on the default web
server port of 80. We've since installed Imail on it's own machine and got
around that problem.
Generally the host unreachable may be the same
problem. We just recently made a house call on a customer who we walked
through the settings on the phone at least ten times, then he became upset
because he's a network admin and knows what he's doing. So I went over and
listened to his abuse until I opened Netscape and found he had put in
mail@kendra@com instead of the appropriate mail server settings. Gotta
love them experts...
