Thanks for the pointer, I already thought of that one and it may come in
handy if I can not find anything more automated, unfortunately ldaper
doesn't seem to do it for more than one user at a time. It would be
acceptable if I could just specify the domain name and it do all the users
in the domain. We are planning to host significant amounts of users
(80,000+) on each IMail server with a custom management interface which
talks directly to the SQL server.
I have still not completely proved that ldaper does work with the external
database.
Any other suggestions would be greatly received.

Check out the Ipswitch documentation for the command-line utility
"ldaper.exe" (included with v6x). The way I understand it, you run it
once, and it updates all specified user info to the ldap. You could put
it on NT's AT Scheduler or something to run a couple of times daily if
it does indeed work with external databases.
