It sure is possible for more than one user to access the same
mailbox, even at the same time. Right now IMail does not properly
lock a spool file as the RFC's say it should. IMail lets multiple
users hit the same spool file simultaneously because it fails
to lock it. Although the mail server says 'Maildrop locked and
ready', you can simply open another POP3 connection to it and
hit it again with a seperate client. So long as IMail does not
adhear to the locking standards you not have a problem with multiple
people accessing the same mailbox at the same time with different
applications.

Of course its mine and my companies hope that IMail will someday
lock a spool file properly, which would then make what you want
to do more difficult if not impossible.

My 2 cents,
Chris Duxler

|Why would you want to do this? (Just curious) Why wouldn't you
create a
|alias with the multi users in the one alias, or use a list?
|
|But yes you can. I have two stations at my desk and I use both
to access
|IMail and occassionally I am on on both stations. It doesn't
present a
|problem that I can tell.
