You MUST stop and restart the SMTP service for any changes to take effect.
If, after the service restart you still can send with the new  Address relay
settings, then I would suggest a restart of the computer. If all this fails,
then you need to re-install IMail (not likely you will get that far!). If
the re-install fixes, then check your HD with your favorite disk scanning
tool.
