We may be converting one of our e-mail servers to iMail, to be used mostly in IMAP
mode. Client software is, and will be, Eudora Pro 4.2. We have hundreds of megabytes
of mail (plus attachments) that we'll need to migrate to the new server.

Currently, these are local Eudora mailboxes and one big problem is that Eudora
detaches attachments when they are accessed (i.e. puts the file into your Attach
directory - and puts text in the message itself to keep the link to the attachment
functional). This presents problems in moving the messages. One solution that seems to
work is import the mail in Netscape (which "re-attaches" the MIME encoded attachment)
and then move this mail to an IMAP folder on the iMail server.

However, this is a lot of work since the import is a manual process. And, some status
information is lost (all messages show up as new, other status is lost).

Does anyone know of any (shareware or commercial) products which would help to
automate this process?

Thanks,

Brian
