Hi Len,
Thank you for the great response but I still don't get it, sorry! My
settings are as follows;
Rmote relay for local users only = enabled
Allow remote mail to local groups = enabled
Check valid sender = enabled
Auto-denny possible hack attempts = enabled
Disable SMTP "VRFY" command = enabled
I have nothing else enabled and no IP addresses entered nowhere as either
blocked or allowed, I have left those setting alone for now. I was thinking
that what I have set above would make a client need to supply a username and
password before they would be able to send a message to the outside wourld.
What is happening is as long as they are using a valid email address they
can send email through the server using any username and/or password. They
can't check the mail with the invalid UN and PW, but they can send.
Do I need to set something else somewhere, or is this just expected
behavior?
