Let me see I can explain this properly.

the .vbs an .js file are only executable if your window 98 or window 95 had
the WSH(window scripting host) engine install. (NT also had a copy of this
scripting engine)

Microsoft had develop this scripting engine to save the work of
administrator and scheduling jobs easily under window environment. It is
kind of like the .bat under dos.

Your can write simple script once and distribute to any of your user in the
same network to make connection to your server OR you can create a simple
script to do a backup OR ... the possibility is endless nightly.

and now if you are smart enough like the virus creator you can write a
script to extract data from most of the window application and transfer to a
database.

if you surf to the Microsoft web site do a search on WSH, you should be able
to get more information.

Hope this help!

be able to either reproduce or do much damage. JavaScript has heavy
security built into it, unlike VBS which is essentially a free-for-all like
EXE files.
