Hi. We're evaluating IMail 6.02, running it under NT Server 4.0 SP5.

We've noticed some oddities about delivery failures, as follows:

1) IMail seems to retry sending mail even when error is unknown user
or unknown host. It isn't supposed to work that way is it? What is
the point in retrying those , especially when user does not exist on
receiving system? If retries are set to 20 and queue timer to 30, it will
take 10 hours just to find out you made a typo in an address.

2) When we set retries to 1 and queue timer to 1 (to speed up testing),
messages with failures never left the spool - they just sat there until
we forced a send.

Has anyone seen this behavior? Any idea if the non-eval 6.03 fixes it?

Thanks,

Brian
