Don't worry I won't be offended, I'm grateful for any help, but we only have
about 2000 active users, the processor(dual p3 550 xeons) utilisation never
gets off the ground (mrtg average of 3%). We are on CF 4.51, http hits to
the server are small, but pop3d32.exe mem. utilisation just goes up and up.
The most worrying thing that I neglected to mention was that I only get to
about 60% of the total memory before the thing keels over with those smtp
errors.

Please don't take this as criticism, but why are you running so much on one
small box?
I would HIGHLY recommend getting at least Cold Fusion and IIS off of your
mail server. Cold Fusion 4.5 and prior were known to have issues. We are
running CF 4.51 and it seems to be better, but we're not running it on
anything that does anything but web content.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Pop3d.exe leaking memory??
Hi,
I am running Imail on a dual Xeon Compaq1850R with 1/2GB Ram, NT 4.0,
SP6a(2), IIS4.0, Cold Fusion server and a very small MS DNS. What I am
seeing is the pop3d.exe process takes more and more memory as the day goes
by until finally the box falls over after giving many errors in the form:
smtp(d32?).exe - DLL initialization failure Initialization of the
dynamic link library c:\windows\system32\user32.dll failed. The process
is terminating abnormally.
I have applied the Imail smtpd32 patch which brings me to version 6.03, the
pop3d32 service is on 6.02.
Any help would be very gratefully received.
Cheers
Bel
