I use Steel-Belted Radius(SBR), http://www.funk.com, for authentication and
NT's database for Imail. SBR of course uses NT as well, so I have 1
interface for adding users. I've evaluated a few of the top RADUIS packages
and found SBR to work well mainly because it doesn't crash NT like the
others - this assuming the clouds are aligned. SBR allows you to pick NT
groups to base authentication, so there's a lot of possibilities for
authentication based on your needs, i.e., group for email accounts only.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Anthony

Subject: [IMail Forum] Slight off list topic (RADIUS Server)
Hi,
<Thanks for the APOP answers>
I see many you are expart in ISP field and I'd like ask you a couple of
questions.
Does anyone have any recommendations in product which works in conjunction
with IMAIL external database (SQL) and RADIUS server for dialup
authentication? What I need is the front end which I can enter user
information and then datas are properly entered to each databases.
For RADIUS server, what product do you recommend? (Cisco Access Registrar
is the one to request authentication.)
I currently manage 3COM Total Control with 3COM's Security and Accounting
Database Manager and IMAIL with SQL database. It does work but I have to
enter the data twice and I have not integrate both yet. Also the Cisco i
mentioned above is the future requirement.
Any suggestion or information are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hideki
