I am purchasing a machine to put iMail on. As a school system, budget is of
course an issue. that is why I was curious as to whether it would be a safe
move to go with a non-server designed machine. Here are my choices... Are
they both okay?
<Most Expensive>
1) Server-oriented machine: Intel PII 440BX motherboard (single processor),
Pentium III 500, 256 MB RAM, 3 9.1 GB Ultra2 SCSI drives, and AMI MegaRAID
EXP300 U2 LVD 1 chnl 32 MB
2) NON-Server-oriented machine: Microstar Dual PII 440BX AGP w/2ch UWSCSI
motherboard, one Pentium III 500, 256 MB RAM, 3 9.1 GB Ultra2 SCSI drives,
and Adaptec AHA2940U2W SCSI LVD controller.
<Least Expensive>
Can I function okay with #2? More specifics regarding the machines are
available, I just posted what I thought was relevant.
