1) Make an alias, that kicks off a program in IMail. Then, that program is a script or executable that you've written in another language (such as WSH, VB or C). That program would then make odbc calls (possibly using a transport such as ADO) to add the data it receives from the arguments.
2) Have an app that checks a pop account once a minute, then pulls the data in and makes the odbc calls.
Either way, it doesnt matter where the severs are, as you'll reference a DSN which will point to the db server. If this all sounds greek, you'll most likely need a developer to handle the task for you. :)
