Had many msn.com failures a few weeks ago. Check for 'Out of Memory' error
in Imail SMTP logs.
Solved this problem by changing all addresses from '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' to
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]'
Don't know why this worked but the errors are gone.

Anyone having problems sending to msn.com? When I send to msn.com using
Imail 6.03 (with SMTP patch) it does not go through. Upon further
examination and research I have found the all the MX records for msn.com
have the same priority (ugh!), and the first record returned is the address
of a server that is not there. All the other servers seem to work, and the
only work-around that I have found is to hardcode the ip of one of the other
servers into the hosts file, which treats the problem (very short term fix).
I have successfully sent email to msn.com from two other ISP accounts that I
maintain for testing purposes, so this seems to be an Imail problem in that
Imail seems to only attempt a connection to the first MX it finds if they
all have the same preference (granted, msn.com should not have the same
preference for all MX records, but they do, and we know Microsoft is not
very flexible in changing practices).
Anyway, I would be interested if anyone else has had similar problems, or if
you have them and had not yet noticed. This seems to be a very recent
occurance, and (again) seems only to affect email to sites with multiple MXs
with the same preference where the first MX returned is to a server that is
not up and running.
