The W1 file logs the authentication information (when users first log on), and other
useful information (such as web administration changes).
The W2 file logs every web hit that is received, including ones most (but not all)
people aren't going to care about, such as the graphics files. I believe the W2 file
is in the standard web log format, so it could be run through any web log analyzer.
As for not saving these logs, someone else will need to answer if there is a way to
not save them.
