Paul, I have a great utility which will automatically extract all your existing users from the Imail server registry (which is where Imail user info is stored) then automatically create the SQL 7.0 table(s) of users and populate the table. It can even reset your server to immediately use the db. The utility was kindly provided by someone from this list about a month or so ago. Readme file included which will tell you how to use the utility. I used it to transfer just over 15000 user accounts from 300+ virtual domains within minutes. email me offlist if you'd like a copy.
