You can, I recommend, do that, to simply your zone files, make a common include file: ;file: db.common ;namservers @           NS  ns1.david.com @           NS  ns2.david.com ;mailexchangers @           MX  10  pa-is-01.com mail        MX  10  pa-is-01.com Then in BIND8, you can build your zone files @   SOA  blah blah $INCLUDE db.common Len
