Very few people have found a "perfect" solution (mostly because anti-virus software
tends to have problems with spam protection).

We're using WebShield SMTP -- it's a "love-hate" thing. I hate the software, and
there isn't any tech support (it took them 2 weeks to get their tech support number).
But it gets the job done -- it's caught about 50 viruses since Monday -- which makes
its bugs and quirks an acceptable cost.

The 3 biggest problems we had: [1] As I mentioned in a recent E-mail, a user sent out
an E-mail to 50 people, with a huge (10 meg?) attachment, and WebShield SMTP decided
to send 3 copies of it to everyone. 100 megs of wasted traffic, plus lots of
irritated people. [2] When the "Love Bug" virus came out, I first put in a "block" to
block E-mail with the "I LOVE YOU" subject. That worked fine. I then installed the
updated DAT file, and it started letting the virus in! Not only did the new DAT file
not recogonize the virus, it stopped the block from working. [3] Blocking files with
SMIME.p7s attachments (secure signatures?), but without notifying anyone that it
blocked them (it blocks all of them, not just ones with a virus). So I have to check
the "Quarantine" directory occasionally to send any of them.

Problem #1 only happened 1 time (that I know of), and Problem #2 was resolved by going
back to the old .DAT file. Problem #3 is annoying, but less annoying that having a
virus outbreak here!
