All I have a Nightmare scenario.

Ver;IMAIL 5.09
OS; NT 4.0
Users; 3000+ on 450 domains (education based..) IMAIL user database

After receiving numerous reports from users of autentication and mail box
problems I have jsut logged on to our IMail server and discovered that
nearly all domains and user directories have been deleted accept those that
have users logged in within the last 15 minutes or so!!!!!!!

All user and domain information is still accesible from IMail administrator
program on the server, so the registery is in tact, but the acutal directory
structure of users and domains that the adminstrator relates to has
vanished. There is no record or log of problems within Event Viewer and no
trace anywhere of the deleted folders/files, and all Mail services are still
and have been running.

Whats happened?????. Access to the server is locked down to individual
users and is in a very secure location. All access is from an internal
network and we do not have any internet facing mail services at present!!!!
This appears to be an action by IMail rather than an Windows NT problem as
the users who were logged in at the time don't seem to have been effected
and as I have stated the deletion is in no way random.

We do not have a relatively new backup of the contents due to recent
problems with our backup hardware.!!!!!!!

Any help on restoration of files, (surely they on NTFS the info is kept
until its over written??) or as to whats happened much appreciated!!!!!
