We have found that if, for example, a doc (Excel, PPT, WORD) is attached
with Outlook(with default configs...which in some revs encodes to rtf) and
sent to an IMAIL user who then DLs the mail attachment using Webmail, the
attachment is very not so readable.
If the originating party does the following to Outlook, then Webmail can DL
the attachment no problemo.
Outlook 2000 E-Mail Encoding Problem and Repair
In outlook 2000 there are options within the e-mail area of the program.
These options need to be set up in the following manner to be able to send
e-mail attachments to others on the webmail server and to be able to open
them up.
1) Go to Tools on the menu bar
2) Go to Options under the tools menu
3) Click on the Mail Format Tab
4) Make sure in the Message format area that Plain Text is displayed
5) Click on settings
6) Choose MIME encode text using: NONE
7) Click OK
8) Click Apply
9) Click OK
Works for us. Not even $.02, more like $.005 worth,
Dave

Subject: [IMail Forum] RTF Content in Imail
Anybody know of issues with Imail stripping or not being able to read MS RTF
content, especially in Web messaging?
Thank You,
