Markus,
If you are going to provide email services to these hosted domains, I would
STRONGLY suggest you do create a virtual domain for each one. This will
assure each domain and its users (email addresses) are unique and all mail
will go to the 'right' place.
Don't worry about IP addresses, IMail can use just the one IP it has, for
all the domains you create! As long as users login correctly, they will get
into their unique mailboxes and mail for them will get there, too (when your
DNS records are correct).
If one of the domains wants IMail to accept email for multiple domain names,
that can be done with a simple 'domain alias' (but all the email for
'info'@eitherdomain, will go to one mailbox. Of course, the user could look
at the message, see the 'To:" and separate them manually). Only if there are
separate domains, will IMail be able to differentiate between them and place
the mail into separate mailboxes. The only other thing that might work,
would be an Alias of the program type, that would call a program you write,
to parse the message, looking for the ' to: domain' and then resend the
email to the 'correct' email address.
