Jeff, see my post under the name LISTS. If you can program in the registry,
you can do exactly what you trying to do.

Here is some sample code to do it. It's just one reg value:

Run the exe( "c:\imail\adddomain.exe", "-h www.%domain_to_add% -i VIRTUAL -t
d:\ms\%mail_dir% -a %domain_to_add% -u IMail -x 9000000 -s 9000 -r 11" )

 Run the exe( "c:\imail\adduser.exe", "-h www.%domain_to_add% -u
mail_dir% -p %mail_password% +web " )

; next - check for the existence of the mail users name in the registry.

key=RegExistkey(@REGMACHINE,
"SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\IMail\Domains\www.domain_to_add\Users\mail_dir")

if "%key%" == "1" then ; if the name is there - get the DWORD value of the
Flags subkey - should be 128
 value=RegQueryValue(@REGMACHINE,
"SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\IMail\Domains\www.domain_to_add\Users\mail_dir[Flags]")
else
; if the name is not there - send a
message to the error_log routine

Yes, but there still is no way to automate giving your customer/client
(whomever) a "host administrator" account so they can maintain their own
individual domain email accounts. I don't want to get a phone call every
time they want to setup a new email address. I'd rather run a single setup
script that:

1) Creates a new domain
2) Apply a "template" of default/common settings to the domain
3) Creates a host administrator account (or not)
4) Creates users and/or aliases (or not)

Blah blah blah.

We were planning on writing one of these but I found out that iMail doesn't
office an API for us to talk to. I don't want to call their cgi scripts
because I don't have control over what they do and they offer limited
functionality.

Please IPSWITCH provide this API/COM to us... Please! Seattle Labs does! Be
open!

If ANYONE else has a viable solution, please let us all know about it.

adddomain.exe and adduser.exe is the key to solve your problem.
and I use ASPexec From www.serverobjects.com to executes those exe.

It's great solution. instead just send an email to the server, just call a
webpage. for security issue, that page better do a query from a database to
determine which domain to add and which user to add to what domain.

half price hosting has developed a completely automated account creation
system,
including virtual www domain and imail account.

However I doubt that they would be willing to tell you much about how they
accomplish this!
