Here is a snippit of a conversation I had with Peter Mourfield of
Ipswitch...
Q: Is there a list of commands available that ldap supports?
I.E. Can I add users to the Imail Server by using the proper ldap command?
Or does the user have to already exist for this to work?
A: "There isn't anyting in the LDAP server that will do that, but there are
a number of utilities that may help you. Check out
http://www.ipswitch.com/Support/IMail/helperapps.html, specifically
"adduser" and "LDAPer"."
So in other words, It can't be done. The LDAP server on Imail doesn't allow
it.
As for the Parameters you get back. those are user configureable. the basic
ones that imail supports are "cn, mail, o" that's it. Any others have to be
added by hand or utilities.

Erik,
We're working hard on a better LDAP client for IMail, and even have a
fixed ildap.exe from Ipswitch (they admit there are bugs in the current
version). We've developed a COM object that works well with ASP for
querying the IMail ldap server.
I'm CC'ing this message to one of my programmers, Jeff, who may be able
to help you... we'd like to figure out how to add/edit users with our
tool, too.
