it's simple, I figured it out. vbg

what's that have to do with anything?? Getting into a queue is not the pb,
getting a msg delivered from the queue to the right ip is yr pb below.

>I see from the log that the second mail host is resolving to an IP address

yep, you figgered it out, too.

>The question is, how do I solve this?

You have a DNS pb, well, maybe not you personally, but some DNS somewhere
is giving out bad poop. Maybe a DNS has been poisoned with bad data.

Andrew,

I just sent msg from my Imail to my IMGate (postfix gateway) and got it
delivered just fine:

Jul 27 13:38:06 mgw1 postfix/smtp[52942]: 61BF66A904:
to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, relay=mail.bmcmedia.com[61.8.14.249],
delay=11, status=sent (250 OK)

So, from my POV, all is cool. So what's yer problem, mate?

Well, my DNS found 61.8.14.249 as the MX for mail.bmcmedia.com, but look at
what yours found:

>07:26 09:29 SMTP-(00000794) Connect bmcmedia.com [210.8.148.52:25] (2)
>07:26 09:29 SMTP-(00000794) 220 w2.mission.net.au ESMTP Sendmail

Whois w2.mission.net.au ???

What a cock up that is, n'est-ce-pas!! And lookit here, to kill all doubt:

dig bmcmedia.com mx

Imail's working great, your DNS is working less great. Both of your DNS
are spoofable, maybe they've been spoofed and poisoned.

Suggestion: give Imail another DNS to work with, far far away, and see if
the mail gets delivered.

Here's extract from DSN Expert:
