Does the full name "machinename.domain.com" have to be under the
-Local System
-Default Host:
box? Can you just have the primary domain in this box?

Most likely, it is doing a reverse looking of your host name. If the IP
address of your server doesn't have a reverse DNS entry to the server's
domain name, some mail servers won't accept your mail. I tried connecting
to it using an IP address that doesn't have a reverse DNS entry and had the
same problem.

Any clues as to why I'm getting this "Can't verify your host name" message?
All other mail goes out just fine, relatively speaking that is.
I took out the domain for customer privacy, but left the receiving domain as
