We have noticed what appears to be a forwarding problem
with Imail 6.04 . When a user on a virtual domain uses
a forwarding address that does not exist in their domain,
Imail attempts to send the message to the same username
on the main domain. Let's say that a user [EMAIL PROTECTED]
has a forwarding address to
.,[EMAIL PROTECTED]
If 'jim' does not exist on domain2.com , Imail tries to
deliver to [EMAIL PROTECTED] where domain1.com is the
main domain on the server. If [EMAIL PROTECTED] exists,
it will deliver the message there. Otherwise, it bounces.
None of our domains share mailbox base directories
so that's not the problem. A customer complained on this
claiming it was a security/privacy problem. He had setup
his forwarding similar to the example above such that his
manager got a copy of his messages. When the manager left
the company, the mailbox where the copies were being sent
to was deleted. They forgot to change their forwarding and
only realized the problem when the owner of the same
username on our main domain complained he was receiving
messages that were not for him.
Has anyone seen this ? Is there a fix ?
Thanks.
