Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] configuring dns for our imailserver
Thanks to Len for the helpful tips on configuring DNS.
I now have a server called ns1 - hosting a domain called tipi.org -
and have registered it as a hostcomputer called ns1.tipi.org at
Network Solutions, using a unique IP number on the server.
That was two days ago, when I ping ns1.tipi.org it still says
unknown, is it the time it takes for registration to go through, or
am I still missing something?
Also, give me a break, when I got my computing diploma we were using
Osborne II systems with two 5.25" floppy drives and no hard drive and
nobody knew about the internet - I'm trying to keep up as much as I
can. My kids - who are at university now - are better at this but
unfortunately not available right now.
