As you can see there is a return path but no from address, so on outlook the

That looks perfect. To be precise, your pb is that for ...
09:17 13:57 SMTP-(00000153) >MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
... is "being stripped" from the mail as received by the remote
server/mailbox? If so, I really can't see how your app or Imail
could possibly be at fault, due to the flawles conformance of Imail
to the SMTPD and SMPT- dialogues above.
This MAIL FROM: stripping occurs for every mail relayed to every
remote host? If so, send me one and let's see what happens.
