Adam,
Certainly possible, as I have not performed this test on a 6.0x version (and
you have, thanks!) and things have changed in Lists. I'm sure it was that
way in the 5.0x and earlier versions.
As for the manual, it never had this (user in .lst and .txt to unsubscribe)
information in any version of the manual, so that is not conclusive (but
when one subscribes via email, both entries are created, both in new and old
versions). I discovered this in some experimentation with lists in the past
(when users were subscribed by email, they were added to both, but when an
Admin added via Web MSG or when added manually to only user.lst, only one
file entry was created and user could not unsubscribe via email, until I
also added the entry to user.txt).
Since the user said he was using a V5 of IMail, he should follow my
recommendation and yours (about which file to use).
