This is a limitation of adddomain.exe; it lacks the flag for an external
database. I ended up using adddomain.exe in a REXX script that goes in
behind adddomain.exe and ORs the value
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\IMail\domains\{domainName}\Flags
with hex 20 to select the external database.
