Peter,
Did you also modify the \winnt\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS file by removing
the old IP and entering the new? NT should have made this change, but I find
it rarely does. Not making this change can cause the system to resolve the
FQDN (local hostname) to the old address and that would not be good!
Just changing the IP should not cause any problems with SMTP or IMonitor
service, so I do not understand why you had to do those other things. But if
uninstall/install both services fixed the problems, guess it did not hurt
anything.
