Not sure I agree that MS is to blame. It was kind of a natural progression
for email to evolve into something more than just plain text.
However, I would agree that for listserv type emails, html/mime emails
should be considered a big no-no. It's just wastes extra bandwidth and not
to mention, many email clients don't support html (fully or ow).
