Learn the lingo: your users "relay" their outbound mail through your
Imail server.

>newenglandpc.net invalid user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Who HASN'T been caught by this one? :

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]

should be

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Imail's ERR msg is misleading. It's not an invalid user but invalid address.

>The client is using Netscape 4.73 to send the email, so
>there apears to be no way to turn on outgoing smtp authentication.

??? yes there is.

>I have the following values in the SMTP Security Tab CHECKED:
>- Relay for local users only

This is insecure. UNcheck.

>- Allow Remote mail to local groups
>- Allow remote view of local groups
>- check valid sender
>- auto-deny possible hack attempts
>- disable smtp vrfy command
>- disable smtp auth command

This is insecure. UNcheck. You want all of your users to relay
through you only after successful SMTP AUTH.
